Cooking Large Overview

Well, this is my answer to those nights I don’t have the time or don’t feel like cooking from scratch. When I started I decided I was going to try to get a handle on the amount of sodium and sugar in our diet. It turns out I am fairly good at it and have expanded my offerings.

I was fortunate that I had the tools needed to try this. Large pots and pans as well as some tools that I used on the barbeque.

My main cooking large dishes are:
• Marinara
• Spaghetti
• Meatballs
• Chicken Chili
• Navy Bean Soup
• Pulled Pork

I package the meals in family portions and froze everything. Then I discovered how easy it was to hot water can, now I can anything without meat and freeze the balance.

Remember if you are using the microwave to thaw your meat in a mason jar, turn it upside down in a bowl. If you don’t the bottom of the jar may break off.

I figured out a way to dice a volume of onions so it is not that difficult.

An added advantage is the cost savings. I made marinara, 19 meals (for 4) for less than .60 cents per meal when you add the pasta in and a vegetable in it is a very cost-effective way to cook. On top of that, I don’t have to make marinara for some time.
